Description/History:It is a square card with a gold border and geometric pattern of hearts and flowers with a girl sipping a drink through a straw in the middle. In the card is an illustration of a boy with a guitar and a girl with an umbrella sittling in the grass. The text reads " Valentine Greetings , I sing a song, 'tis not very long, But here's what it has to say, Oh tell me you'll be my Valentine, For this is St. Valentine's Day." Printed on the back is "Whitney Made, Worcester, Mass., Made in USA.", and handwritten is " To Mary Johnson" and "Elizabeth S.". It is a valentine given to Mary Ruth Johnson McShane (1909-2001) of Mt. Vernon during her school years.
